Heartless Gets Animated

Heartless from kwest on Vimeo.
Kanye continues his progression into unexpected creativity with his new single Heartless from 808s & Heartbreak. While the album sounds a bit shabby right now, this is a pretty classic track, now with an equally dope video. Directed by Hype Williams...possibly the hip-hop video of 2008, at least once this annoying center-stage watermark goes away.

Heartless

As previously reported, Kanye just had his listening party for 808s & Heartbreak, which is about to drop in November.

If you haven't heard the news yet: there will be hardly any rappity rap happening, there will be a ton of autotune, and, the real kicker, it was recorded in three weeks. We've already heard one single, and if you liked that one, chances are you will be feeling this as well. If you are on the other side of the fence, Kanye will still be dropping his scheduled prequel to Graduation in June, so you have a real album to look forward to.

Second single off 808s.

Good Morning

Best Kanye track hands down has a video from Murakami. This premiered at the Brooklyn Museum at the beginning of the summer, but is now available for your personal Japanimation use.

Hova: Hustlas, that's if ya still livin, get on down
Yeezy: Everytime that we hit em.

I always wait patiently for that hook.

Jay-Z x Kanye x Lil Wayne x T.I. x M.I.A.

Recipe for success:
• Get together the four top MCs in the game
• Add to an already banging beat an unpredictable hook from M.I.A.s record of the year "Paper Planes"
• Release it to the wolves.

It's debatable whether or not this is from
The Blueprint 3 or from new T.I. album Paper Trail, but I'm going with the latter. I just listened to this 15 times in the last half hour.

My all-blue Yankee is my graduation cap.

The Best News Ever

New Jay-Z album:
• Produced entirely by Kanye
• Dropping in
December of this year
• First single, premiered live at MSG with Kanye titled Jockin (seen here), will be dropping within the next two weeks.

How is that for short notice?
Nas and Premier, CL and Pete Rock, Kweli and Hi-Tek...you need to realize that this formula not only works, it is practically the only way to make classic albums. Even if you are talented, 15 producers and 12 guest MCs makes your CD a hot circle of garbage.

I'm going to put my foot in my mouth and say it: Here comes the best album of '08.

Goings On About Town

• If Kanye was Picasso, graffiti would be made of light.
• Guess who made A Milli. Classics beget sort of classics.
Banksy got outed.
• Erykah Badu is pregnant & pissed.
• Tats Cru does work for Lord & Taylor? Blech.
• Nas is a
demagogue.
Bad rappers are as annoying as they are industrious.
• Scott Storch
loses it like Mike Tyson.
• How to
save the Olympics and/or silence Tibetans.

Child Rebel Soldiers

In anticipation of the new CRS album from Kanye, Lupe, and Pharrell, here is a HEAVY mixtape put down by Dub Floyd. Including more than thirty original remixes for this project as well underground freestyles and classics, this wins the award for mixtape of the year. You know a Full Clip sign off is hard to obtain, and on top this is getting 5 gold tapes.

I don't even know which tracks to premier...

LUPE FIASCO - THE COMMERCIAL

KANYE FT PHARRELL - LORDZ OF THE UNDERGROUND

LUPE FIASCO - KICK PUSH (JERU REMIX)

Entire mixtape available from the producers themselves at Dubsack.

Man On The Moon

Big shows are usually not my thing, but from what I keep seeing and reading the Glow In The Dark Tour is supposed to be the most innovative thing since the beginning of concerts, perhaps back to prehistoric times. If you don't believe me you can verify it with the good people of The New York Times, who recently reviewed his show at MSG last week:

"The spectacle is framed as a sci-fi space odyssey, with Mr. West as a lone explorer whose starship crashes on an unknown planet. He’s stranded in a landscape of colored lights, billowing smoke — probably enough dry ice to cool Death Valley — and gorgeous, panoramic video images of clouds, galaxies, fireworks and cosmic eruptions."

I haven't seen any really good footage of the tour so how about this excellent clip of Kanye performing at G-Shock's 25th Anniversary party last night ... how I missed this is up in the air and still questionable.

Everyone Nose Remix

Remix of that one we dropped a while back but now it's got Kanye, Lupe, & Pusha T (cot damn). Totally new beat, which is pretty fresh except for on the hook change. Regardless it's the second CRS release, and you know that this is going to be a hit. This verse is also a new favorite:

She had her high heels
I had my high tops
Sippin on Hi-C
Eatin on Hy-drox

Short video documentary on the making of this track here.

Pay Jay

Pretty soon the new J Dilla album Pay Jay will be dropping, which was an album recorded in 2002 under contract with MCA. It is an unusual album for Dilla, since he doesn't do any of the beats, but rather has important producers lace the tracks he rhymes over. Included on the boards are Madlib, Pete Rock, Hi-Tek, Supa Dave West, and Kanye West.

The above video a short documentary on the album, though you really don't get much more information than how many blunts were smoked in the studio (46).

I dropped that Trucks jawn on you last week, which is the first precursor to the album other than a new one that recently released produced by Kanye.

UPDATE: Here's the Kanye produced track.

Another new track off Pay Jay here.

Kanye The Musical

Shot outs to my man Scholar over at Souled On. Dude's educating cats left and right on some serious history that needs to be known. Similar to this Kanye remix project called Graduation The Musical, which features blends of the actual soul samples from Graduation mixed with Kanye's remakes. We officially loves this kind of ish.

And speaking of Etta James, Beyonce is playing her in an upcoming film beside Mos as Chuck Berry.
