You Are You

Why did Slick Rick disappear for three years straight and then reappear on the UK bonus track for this brand new white kid phenomena? (And ya, we know, Cee-Lo & Beanie Siegel co-signed Asher).

Truth is, who cares...The Nottz beat is bananas, Asher does his thing, and Rick is still the best MC of all time.

You're a music blog... a good music blog. So if you make the claim that "[Slick] Rick is still the best MC of all time," show us. Don't preclude Slick Rick with a terrible Asher Roth rhyme.

We hip-hop heads are always jonesin for great new (or old) music... please indulge us.

It's like listening to a marketing plan.

Slick Rick being the best MC of all time has nothing to do with what verse comes before or after him on a given track.

I was just excited to see him back again, honestly. Especially over a nice Prince Paul-ish beat. I dont think Asher killed this but it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.

Im pretty sure I indulge the appetites of hip-hop heads regardless of the disagreeable choices I make occasionally.

Thanks for the props as well though.

Ps. Ive also been up on this site that has an amazing array of old afro-american/brazilian diasporic music (reggae, soul, brazilian music, jazz, even some hip-hop). Its a very interesting site, especially when you download an album and you hear the original beat from Wu-Tang and whatnot.

It's all good. I would rather have people be critical and start the conversation than not say anything.

I will check out that site for schnitzel.
