Obrigado! Dilla

^ Wow.

If you were anywhere on the west coast this past weekend and didn't attend
Suite For Ma Dukes - The J Dilla Tribute, shame on you. What else were you doing on a Saturday that was better than witnessing a 40-piece orchestra lead Dilla classics? Hanging with your peoples at Fatburger while Talib Kweli, De La Soul, Common, and J Rocc dedicated their talents to our generation's John Coltrane? Oh hell no.

Just look at the Mochilla video above played during the interim of J Rocc's set to witness the kind of soul that marked the event. True musicians honoring true musicians, for the love (does that concept even still exist?)

Since I wasn't there myself, and you obviously weren't either, you can catch the full rundown with Sweeney Kovar over at one of the few respectable hip-hop sites still alive, Classic Drug References.

And in the meantime and inbetween time:

Girls grab the boys, and get wild, wild, wild.
