Seattle based duo Common Market are set to release their second album Tobacco Road in two days. Like my sneaky little self, I of course have it a few days early. But this is a good thing...because I am blessed to spread the word that this is THE album you need to get in 2008.
Every beat on this album is so rich, soulful, and well-composed there isn't a track worth skipping. On the other end the lyricism has a healthy spirituality and energy you find in groups like The Pharcyde and De La Soul. KRS-One in fact mentioned recently that Common Market "spits well in the tradition of the conscious hip-hop movement"...and then brought them on tour with him.
I don't even know which tracks to post, but that beat on Winter Takes All. Mang.

That beat on Winter Takes All is Niiiice....
I picked this album up. Good stuff... don't think I'm feelin' it as much as Blue Scholars though. Reminds me of Sweatshop Union... their new album is amazing!
