Memory Lane: Voodoo

D'angelo takes us on a trip down memory lane to the recording sessions of the masterpiece Voodoo, recorded in Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland Studios.

Featuring a cast of Eric Clapton, Chris Rock, Q-Tip, and Rick Rubin, all of whom are rightfully blown away by it upon first listen (can you imagine being one of the first to hear that?). Apparently D is quite close to Eric Clapton, who has put in a great deal of time coaching him back from alcoholism in the last few years.

Get hyped for the release of his new album
James River in the fall, which he has been recording since 2006 with ?uestlove and the usual top shotters.

Shots to Universoul Productions for the look.
